プロフィール：中井智子（TOMOKO NAKAI）

京都市生まれ。画家である両親の影響を受け、幼少期より絵に親しむ。 東京藝術大学美術学部日本画専攻卒業。

現在は横浜市を拠点に、幻想的な物語性を秘めた日本画を制作しています。 全国各地での個展活動のほか、絵本の挿画など幅広く活動。

日々の暮らしの中にある、ハープの音色と猫との穏やかな時間を大切にしながら、作品に向き合っています。

I’m a Nihonga (traditional Japanese painting) artist based in Kyoto, creating works inspired by nature and mythology. I also run a private painting class at my home studio.

I create paintings using sumi ink, mineral pigments, and metal leaf on traditional washi paper and silk.
My work combines classical Nihonga techniques with my own quiet perspective, capturing unspoken emotions and scenes hidden within stillness.

I studied traditional Japanese painting (Nihonga) at Tokyo University of the Arts, entering in 2000.
After completing my undergraduate studies in 2004, I continued into the graduate program and completed my master’s degree in 2006.
In 2005, I was selected to create reproductions of both the paintings and calligraphy of the National Treasure The Tale of Genji picture scrolls (held by the Tokugawa Art Museum).
One of the reproductions was later acquired by the university.

I have held numerous solo exhibitions throughout Japan.
In addition to my original works, I have also illustrated children’s books, including The Tale of Princess Kaguya (Fukuinkan Shoten).
